Author: Susi Hawke
Release Date: 21 September 2017 Price: $2.99
Cover Art: Cover shows two men and has candy pumpkins on it. Goes well with the light feeling of the book and is perfect for this time of year.
Synopsis: Good intro to characters and contains a warning for 18+ readers only.
Plot: Milo is an omega who owns Sweet Ballz, a candy store in Hollydale. Rafe is a pedigreed alpha who needs space from his disapproving family. They think he should be out at parties instead of writing his romance novels.
Plot is well laid out with some surprises, it’s not your typical omega meets alpha book and we’ll worth the price.
Main characters: Meet Rafe, a lonely alpha who just moving to Hollydale and is house hunting to get off his friend’s couch. He needs to put space between him and his family who disapprove of his job of writing a romance book series.
Milo is the owner of Sweet Ballz who, when not making yummy candy, spends his time reading instead of going out and partying.
Secondary characters: Ian is Rafe’s friend and temporary housemate. Tom is Milo’s friend who talks in third person unless emotional or upset.
Editing and flow: Story flows smoothly with no plot-holes or wrong words or phrases. Characters are well written and likable.
Conclusion: I loved this cute fall tale even though I usually avoid pumpkin spice anything. The story is well told with world and character building that makes it easy to read. Susi is a new author to me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
I give this book a 9 out of 10
