Cover Art: It is a striking cover. It is a black background with a MMA fighter on the cover. The attractive man stares out at the reader. The title is written in neon orange.
Main Characters: Riley and Craig are interesting characters. They had instant chemistry and their intimate scenes were sizzling hot. The only downside that I found with them as a couple was that they seemed to want different things. Riley wanted to commit but Craig did not. Craig wanted an easy relationship. I did not like Craig at first because of the way he treated Riley. It seemed their relationship was doomed to be forever on unequal footing.
Secondary Characters: Riley and Craig’s friends and family play an important role in the story by supporting them throughout.
Plot: The story is straightforward; two people meet and go through a lot to be with each other. It is rather dramatic throughout the entire story.
Format: The story is told in the third person. The action is seen from Riley’s side of the story.
Flow/Continuity: I did not see any problems with the flow or continuity. The story moves easily from first meeting until the end. The intimate scenes were well placed. They were electric.
Conflict/Climax: The conflict is major between Riley and Craig. Several blowups occur with the men over the status of their relationship. There was a climax before the ending, actually several but it leaves the characters’ relationship on even ground.
Editing: There don’t appear to be any mistakes in grammar or spelling but for some reason every other paragraph was highlighted in white. It strains the eyes. Having peeked inside the released copy, this appears to have been solely with the review copies.
Conclusion: I think this is a well written story. I liked Riley a lot but for most of the story I hated Craig and his attitude. I think that together these two characters made for a good story. The sex scenes between them made this story memorable. Since the author created a story that held my attention throughout even though the rocky points.
I give this 7 out of 10 stars.
