Cover Art: It is very interesting. There is a man wearing a black leather jacket with piercing eyes on the top portion of the cover. On the bottom of the cover is an alert, smiling baby. Dividing the two images is the title. I like the way that it is written out. I think that it works because it is fanciful. I like the colors used in the font, blue and black. It came out very well.
Synopsis: The author introduces the reader to Mark and Landon. It is short and sweet. It states at the end that it is a friends to lovers novella of 37k words with adult sexual content and a cute baby.
Plot: A friends to lovers story that results in a baby. I found it very interesting.
Main Characters: Landon and Mark are partners on the police force and friends outside of work. Mark is a beta and Landon is an alpha. They begin as friends and transition into lovers. They are very passionate as lovers.
Secondary Characters: I think that these characters do not have a large role in the story, which is focused squarely on Mark and Landon.
Writing Style: It was narrated in alternating first person. The writer gives each character a chapter. I liked this because it put me in the characters thoughts. I think that the sex was written nicely.
Conflict/Climax: The conflict in story revolves around change and accepting the change. It encompasses much of the story and the writer does a decent job expressing the main characters’ emotions. The climax is satisfying and only brought about because the main characters support each other.
Conclusion: I liked the characters and their road to romance. I also liked the author’s writing style.
For all these reasons, I give this story an 8 out of ten!
