Cover Art: The cover has an ocean blue background with a blond male wearing a black muscle shirt. The male on the right has dark hair and a goatee with a hairless chest, wearing only a nice six pack. At the bottom there is a beautiful beach and ocean scene. The title is in a smooth wave font which matches the story. The title and author’s name are easy to read.
Synopsis: The sneak peek matches the storyline and makes you want to know more about the characters. There is not a warning of sexually explicit adult content.
Plot: Harris goes on a mandatory vacation after losing a patient. His assistant, Maggie books him at a B&B to his surprise. After a frustrating trip he loses patience, and tries to find somewhere to eat. After losing his temper, Reid, the restaurant owner, comes to calm him down. Then things get interesting.
Dr. Harris Brewer- Cardiac Surgeon
Reid- Owner of Gail’s Place, Gail being his deceased Mother
Maggie- Harris’ assistant
Dylan- Owner/operator of The Changing Tides Inn B&B
Lincoln- A friend of Reid
Flow/Continuity: The intimate scenes fit the characters’ natures. While not a cliffhanger, you want more of the story.
Conflict & Climax: There aren’t really conflicts between the characters, just many complex issues in their lives to sort out. You find yourself rooting for Harris and Reid. There are close friendships to learn about. Reid really cares about his staff.
Editing/Formatting: There are chapter headings in capital letters. The chapters are sorted out by naming who is telling their story. Harris or Reid.
Priced: This book is priced under what most in this genre are charging for a new release. It is well worth the price and I would pay a higher price for this story.
Conclusion: The Changing Tides Inn B&B I would love to visit, it sounds wonderful. I could almost smell the coffee and taste the jam. I would like to visit the barn, it sounds like a weekend experience. The details given are realistic and pull the reader into the story. I want to know what happens after Maui.
