Cover Art: This was a nice and simple cover. The model is nice to look at and he looks like he belongs on the cover. He has nice expression on his face. Another thing that I liked about this cover was the colour scheme. I liked the usage of the red shades, orange, and black. The text was clean and easy to read.
Main Characters: Toby and Liam are friends who work together at an L.A. coffee house. They have a great friendship so when Toby needs a date for his sister’s wedding, Liam feels that he can step into that role. The men have an easy friendship that over the course of the story transforms into a loving relationship.
Secondary Characters; Toby’s family are suffocating but well intended. They don’t really know when to stop.
Plot: I think this was a fun, straightforward plot. It was a nice example of both the fake boyfriend and friends to lover genres.
Writing style: I think that this story was well crafted. I liked the narrative and how it switched from Toby to Liam or vise versa every chapter. The author stuck the reader into the characters’ trains of thought. The dialogue felt natural. I also liked how he crafted his sexual content. The author created rich and vibrant intimate moments. He crafts very detailed scenes that bring the reader into characters’ emotions.
Conflict/Climax: Family causes pressure for one of the characters, that leads to an explosion of emotions. The men deal with it together and solve the issue in a satisfactory manner.
Conclusion: I liked everything about this story. I loved the main characters, Toby and Liam’s romance. I loved the author’s ability to craft enjoyable scenes.
For all these reasons, I award this story 9 out of ten stars!
