Cover Art: Simple yet striking, the torsos of two young men clad only in jeans appear off to one side against a white background with the title in a clear font on the opposite side. The author’s name appears across the bottom. I like it.
Synopsis: Clear and concise, gives an outline of the story without giving too much away.
Plot: Stepbrothers who have not spoken since Luc left home are brought together when their parents’ dance school is failing and Luc comes home to help. Adam has passed over his dreams of becoming a dancer to work with his parents at their dance school.
Main Characters: Luc Earnshaw and Adam Earnshaw – stepbrothers who were best friends until Luc was 14 years old. Luc eventually left home because he couldn’t bear to be around Adam, knowing he was in love with him.
Secondary Characters: Adrianna Temple – Luc’s boss, Mason – Adam’s ex, now a professional ballet dancer, Mr & Mrs Earnshaw
Flow/Continuity: The story flows seamlessly from scene to scene and there were no continuity issues.
Conflict & Climax: Conflict is initially between the stepbrothers who haven’t spoken since Luc left home. We know Luc is still in love with Adam but what will Adam’s reaction be when they meet?
Writing Style: An easy flowing style which makes you want to read on. The book is written in the third person with each chapter alternating between Luc and Adam.
Editing/Formatting: Nice and clear, there were a few minor typos which are bound to have been fixed by release day but nothing which would pull you out of the story.
Price: Reasonable for the length of story
Conclusion: I really enjoyed this story. The sensitive subject of stepbrothers being in love was dealt with in a sympathetic way.
I must give this a 10/10* because I loved it so much.
When Luc is invited back home to help get his parents’ failing dance school back on track, Adam isn’t sure he can cope with having his stepbrother back in his life. Especially when he discovers Luc’s decade old secret.
Luc left home because he was sure no one would understand that he had fallen in love with his stepbrother.
Convinced that the years of distance he has put between them will have erased his desire, Luc doesn’t hesitate to return home to help the business that means everything to his parents. Confronted by Adam once more, Luc’s past feelings re-awaken. But will revealing his true feelings to Adam heal the rift between them, or drive them even further apart?
